Arkansas Second Amendment Rally to Highlight Political Candidates
Several of Arkansas' national level political candidates have agreed to speak about their views on the Second Amendment on February 27 at the Arkansas Second Amendment Rally at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock. Speakers will have ten to fifteen minutes to give their take on what the Second Amendment issue means to them and their campaign stance. At present there are four senate candidates scheduled to speak; Jim Holt(R), Kim Hendren(R),Gilbert Baker(R) ,John Boozman(R), Curtis Coleman(R), Trevor Drown(I), Randy Alexander(R), and Conrad Reynolds(R);who are vying for Blanche Lincoln's senate seat . Ken Adler(Green) seeking house seat Arkansas District 1 will be on hand, Tim Griffin(R), Scott wallace(R), and Robbie Wills(D)are seeking House seat in Disrtict 2 will be there; as well as Steve Lowry(R) and Bernard Skoch(R) who are seeking John Boozman's Arkansas 3rd District seat; and Marc Rosson(R) for the House District 4 represenatative will speak as well. Come to this unique rally where you can hear these candidates speak on our favorite topic!

This should be a very interesting event. I see some names on the list with an (R) appended to them that has put me on alert to where my waders when I attend. The only name on the list I have seen worth a damn is Trevor Drown Afghanistan Vet who earned a Green Beret. He also has a great website. You should link their names to their websites above. I agree, Drown is the Man
I have seen all of these guys speak at the Little Rock Tea Party. Drown was the last one, he was the only Independent at that one too. They had him speak last and they were an hour past the end time. So he only got five minutes. Trevor can fire up a crowd. He spoke from the heart with confidence and conviction and was the only one to talk about the Veterans and what they are about. Five times the group gave him standing ovations. I also saw Trevor speak at the Mena Tea Party. This time he had a lot more time and the crowd had filled the Armory to capicity. Had to be over 800 people there.
Sadly, I won't make this one, but whoever is there is in for a real treat. He is no nonsense about the 2nd Amendment. Even has it carved on that soapbox he carries with him. I have no idea what he did as an intel operator with the Green Berets over in Afghanistan, but I saw the photos on his web site with the sniper rifle. He looked like he was hunting something that walked on two legs. I bet he bagged his limit.

Have the Political Covert Operations Begun?
With those two "anonymous" posts about Trevor Drown, I believe the Second Amendment March in Little Rock has already (and unfortunately) become a political sandbox. Those posts sound suspiciously like the operational "M/O" that some of Trevor's senior staff seem to believe is necessary for his success. If you think that Trevor is a good man and a viable candidate (as I do), be man enough to put your name on the post. And if you are in Trevor's camp, just say so. I can respect that sort of disclosure. Otherwise, stop playing games that detract from the purpose of the Second Amendment March to gain some sort of perceived psychological advantage for Trevor - or any candidate, for that matter. I personally hope Trevor will recognize that the type of covert operations necessary in Afghanistan have no place in or value to his campaign. And in the interest of total transparency, I have, in fact, contributed to Trevor's campaign as well as to that of Colonel Conrad Reynolds.
With that said, I hope organizers of the Second Amendment March will be successful in keeping the focus of the event on the Second Amendment. The truth is that we need to hear from all candidates on their Second Amendment stance and this march should be about that and nothing more. Thereafter, I am capable of making my own decision about the candidate I will ultimately support in November. And I do not need anonymous bloggers - or amateur political operatives from any camp playing "psy-op" games - to attempt to influence me.
I appreciate the work that Steve Skillern and his staff have done to organize the event and look forward to meeting with and hearing from patriots who realize what is at stake if our Second Amendment rights are further eroded.

The more I read your swill that was intended to character assassinate Trevor Drowns independent run, and those who may support him and have no qualms about doing so; and note: their replys were in contect of the subject matter at hand, the hotter I get. I hope others see your post for what it was meant to incite.
Why did you post your diatribe? Just who were you trying to influence? Or have the republicans become so much like the left that freedom to speak just plain annoys you?
A lesson I have learned, specially after the John McCain fiasco.
I want to state what I have seen occur in both the Democrat & Republican parties.
The left and socialists for years ran third party candidates ( Trevors an independent not 3rd party BTW ) to no avail. So they conspired to infiltrate and take over the liberal laden democratic party ( moderates? ) in the 60's and President Obama is the fruit of their labor. All your political correct (BARF ) mantra's now come from within that party. Well if it worked for the democratic party, why not own all the turf ( like good socialists/communists/dictators like ) and infiltrate the RNC/GOP.
Every time you hear the PC speech echo from the progressives who are taking over the RNC/GOP where people are now chosen by race or gender vs life experience, you are seeing the virus eat away at another group of patriots, until they do own all the turf and take away our sovereign status and make us drones of the state.
It's time to look outside the norm when conditions are as adverse for all as they are, as in the end it may be the only way for all to protect our entire bill of rights, including, but not limited to The Second Amendment
In the end, that's your choice and that's what make our nation great. Their posts and wording, as much as my posts and wording are what we choose to post that appears in context, with NO ONE NAMED, where in you Sir attacked Mr. Drown by name.

The "Split The Vote" mantra is a lie being fostered to insure a two party system that adds to confusion rather than clarity about a candidate.
The "your splitting the vote" was created by the parties to insure their dominance and so they will not be forced to improve and accept the values of the people it is supposed to represent. Personally I think the nation would be better off with 2 more years of the socialist if it forces the Republicans to their knees and gets some testosterone back in the party. It will be stupid for the republicans to oppose conservative independents because they will be caucusing with the Republicans anyway. The difference is they won't be obligated to the party and they don't have to tie themselves to the party's corrupt and destructive behavior. Until we get passed the fear of "your splitting the vote" the republicans will always look at us as "sure votes" and treat the conservatives like a neglected spouse while they go out with the more attractive mistress. Adhering to the "your splitting the vote" mentality will keep conservatives marginalized for ever.

Let me make one of my own.
1. I see no covert operation. This line was not in my mind as I started to
draft a reply. I added it after I pressed "add new comment" as no where in
the form to do so is there a place to add ones name. Nor have I read any where
on the comment page and suggestion(s) that one do so. It appears that some
just do it by the book and saw no need to add a name or title (volunteer information)
where none was sought.
2. You state you know Trevor Drown, yet without a phone call or private email to him
asserted he or his "staff" of operators were running a covert mission by posting
their feelings on the issue. The issue is The Second Amendment, as well as the line-up
of who is speaking. If you have a sincere feeling that coincides with part of
the item you are responding too, not to include your true feelings for fear of
upsetting some one would make you just another limb of the personality contest crowd.
3. As a life long republican who changed to independent after Navy Flier John McCain
was shoved down our throats the last election ( see my site http://eaglesnest2.ning.com )
I have a lot of issues with those who hang on to a party who are, in the end aiming
to end our way of life. I think I would have stated something stronger than what the
two posts I read set forth if I was out to nail any thing other than a heart felt support for
a candidate I feel has not been corrupted by the system.
In fine, I have never found any set way to communicate the importance of the Bill
of Rights’ Second Amendment for the protection of liberty without highlighting those
whom I fear, will in the end, try and nullify that right.
In 2008 the SCt in Columbia v. Heller finally affirmed that the Founders fully
intended the Second Amendment to protect an individual right to own and bear arms
but that has not deterred those from both parties who oppose private ownership of
weapons of mass protection. (g) I don't care if they served or did not serve.
Heck, John Kerry "served" got three scratches and three PH and a get out of
Vietnam free card and is an enemy of our way of life.
So I will close by concurring with the posters below that it's important those in
any group know who they fear may work to remove our sovereign Republic and our
"right" to keep and bare arms. Preserving our constitutional rights will hinge
on our ability to educate the American people of not only those rights we cherish,
but those who may, in the end, work toward their demise. It will also hinge on who
we choose to elect.
Finally, there is no in between.

Be weary of the many with deep pockets who think they can buy this election in Arkansas via the press and their ads, or other spending by both RNC/GOP and Democrats.
This next election could be the start of a rising force in this country, the Independent. Arkansas will be one of the battleground states. When one looks at the numbers and realizes only 55,000 registered voters are democrats, 45,000 republicans and the remaining 1.6 million are registered as optional or independents, political strategists know it is time to worry. The political winds are changing in Arkansas.
GOP is a corrupt bunch in bed with the Dems. (it's no secret) and they're extremely weak. Their coffers are empty, and they don't even run a candidate against most Democrats unless they see the writing on the wall as they have with Blanche Lincoln. We currently have 9 GOP candidates for her position (at last count). No one ran against Mark Pryor (our other Senator) last year, nor against Marion Berry or Vic Snyder (U.S. Reps.) in their last elections. As of now, they haven't announced anyone to run against the Dem. Governor, Mike Beebe; if they don't do so by March, they'll lose their status as a major party. Arkansas has only elected one GOP U.S. Senator in the past 132 years, and he wasn't re-elected. Before that, Stephen Dorsey was the last GOP Senator and his last year in office was in 1879; there have only been 5 GOPs in total, and none were re-elected. Add up all the years since Arkansas became a state and multiply that by 2 for the two Senators, and you get 348 years. Republicans have only held U.S. Senate seats for a total of 28 years! Where were they the rest of the 320 years? What makes anyone think a Republican can win now? Does anyone think Blanche Lincoln has been the only unpopular Democratic senator we've had over all those years? The problem is the old-school Dems. in the state who will never vote for a Republican (an old mindset that is a hold-over from the civil war). Since there are more Dems. that Republicans in the state, they are always out-voted. Besides, Trevor isn't a "3rd party candidate"--he's an Independent. There is a difference--he can be anything he wants at any time. As for the polling, to my knowledge, they haven't even included him in the polling yet. Until the GOP primary takes place, they haven't even given a thought to the Independent.

No Financial Reporting for Trevor Drown
If Trevor has collected any money for his race, then why is he not reporting it to the FEC? Campaign Finance laws are very specific and will disqualify a candidate who violates them. Unless I am mistaken even an Independent who is not officially on the ballot, but is collecting money for a run must file financial disclosure reports. If Trevor can not properly follow the law on campaign finance, I don't believe he is qualified to be a senator.

Do you know the law? Has Trevor been cited for a violation? Those are public record. Using your same logic, only eight of the thirteen candidates listed are in compliance. But wait, three of those eight have hit the eject button. The Colonol is days away from following. Drew and Stanley have bailed out too. Fred and Kim are on the fence. It is all part of that covert operative plan. He has to have collected millions and spent it in order to have the impact he has. There can't be any other way. Unless this is funded by an off shore special CIA bank account or maybe even a grassroots movement of many thousands of volunteers, which is it?

I've been reading about how they say the campaign is not focusing on fundraising but seems to be able to raise enough funds when expenses come due. That means they are raising funds. It is going unreported which means that they are in violation.
True, others haven't filed anything either, but that could mean they didn't raise anything. I have only read of Trevor collecting funds and decided to look up how he's doing. If he hasn't raised anything until Jan. 1 then he's in good shape. I don't think that's the case.

It doesn't matter if I am in Trevor's inner circle, or one of Blanche's staffers, or even one of Boozman's or Guilbert's people does it? The fact remains that there is no financial reporting for Trevor's campaign and that's something Trevor has sole control over.

I reserve the right to adjust my prediction if he gets 3 or more endorsements from Nationally known personalities such as Sarah Palin, G. Gordon Liddy, or Glenn Beck. I seriously doubt that will happen unless some serious changes are made in the campaign.
We'll see who's right in November.
Tell me what is his message? So far it seems he's just running against the two party system. No one ever won an election just running against stuff. All that does keep people home. You win by running for issues.
Advice for Trevor: You say your a constitutionalist. Instead of running against the two party system and ranting about how it's broken. Try campaigning FOR the Constitution. Tell people why it's the second greatest document ever written. Tell people why we need to return to it's principles. Tell people how you're going to do it. Cut out the trashing of the two major parties, that'll excite your base, but won't win you any more votes beyond that.
Run FOR something not against the system, and for crying out loud, start reporting your finances.

The fact you are already focusing on Drown, means you are worried, very worried. My suggestions to you are to fire your party Chair who declared bankruptcy, get some leaderhip and start trying to represent the conservative voice of Arkansas. Oh and get someone to run for Governor, in 30 days the Arkansas Republican Party becomes a minor party.

Steve Thank You for Providing a Forum for The Speech
Obviouslly, for whatever reason Trevor Drown has become a lightening rod. His stance on the 2nd Amendment are pretty clear and I think he and all the candidates that are coming would do everything to protect that constitutional right. Otherwise why show up and speak. I look forward to hearing all their views and ideas and any future leader would also take other views and ideas into account and may incorporate them too.
For 30 years, I have voted in Arkansas. Usually, Republican, but not always. I vote the person who I think is closest to me and my value system. In many cases it has been a lessor of two evils or who I can think will do the least amount of damage.
The venal comments by the anti-Drown faction as well as the overwhelming supporting comments by the pro-Drown faction indicate to me someone is extremly worried about what Trevor Drown represents.
In my book, that is someone I want to know more about and it gives me hope that ten months from now, I won't have to hold my nose when I select my next Senator.
My advice for the anti-Drown faction is to concentrate on your message and input with your preferred candidate. To slam Drown only continues to give him great credibility and support.
My advice for the pro-Drown faction is to continue to defend the honor of your chosen one. He is a Vet and as far as I can see has done nothing wrong except step forward and try and help. That is more than most people these days. Take no prisoners in defending a rightous man.

Hello, My Name is Trevor Drown, though I am not Trevor Drown in reality, as many are who Trevor Drown is in their hearts minds and souls, I thought I'd leave my humble grave, my home now for many years and set forth what I feel Trevor Drown is stateing.
Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth, upon this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal, yet no one is "preferred".
The theme of the Gettysburg Address was not entirely new. President Lincoln was aware of Daniel Webster's statement in 1830 that the origin of our government and the source of its power is "the people's constitution, the people's government; made for the people, made by the people, and answerable to the people." Lincoln had read Supreme Court Justice John Marshall's opinion, which states: "The government of the Union . . . is emphatically and truly a government of the people. . . . Its powers are granted by them and are to be exercised directly on them, and for their benefit" and not a chosen few who have received preferential treatment by Courts who abandoned interpretation of law based on the constitution, to legislation from the bench.
Now we are once again engaged in a great civil war within our borders based on "ism's" with socialism demanding our freedoms be nullified, testing whether that nation, or any nation so conceived, and so dedicated, can long endure.
We are met here on the great battlefield of all wars for our freedoms, past and present. We have come forward to protect the final resting place for those who here gave, since the birth of our nation, their lives that this nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.
But in a larger sense we can not dedicate - we can not consecrate - we can not hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled, here and abroad for our way of life have consecrated it far above our poor power to add to or detract from by their sacrifices. The world will little note, nor long remember, what we say here, but can never forget what they did here and in their nations for them
It is for us, the living, rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they have, thus far, so nobly carried on and gave their lives or health to sustain.
It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us - that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they, generation after generation have given the last full measure of devotion - that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain; that this nation shall have a new birth of freedom; and that this government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
Dear Arkansas Voters and supporters from around our nation:
It will be a major victory for powerful interests in both the Democrat and Republican party that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans if either party wins this seat.
Their goal: elect the people who will do their bidding, while defeating those who won't.
While we work on a shoe box donation budget, businesses, labor and special interest groups will dole out unfathomable amounts of money in campaigns nationwide to support those in political power we once placed in our trust and faith with our individual votes. It's time for Arkansas to lead our nation once again. I am asking you for your trust, faith and for your vote.

It is a good thing that the Second Amendment is clear enough for voters to understand without "intellectual" debates like this to speak for it. You guys with your junior high school mentality and conspiracy theory jargon are exactly what makes a lot of voters nervous about the simple concept of every American being guaranteed the constitutional right to defend themselves.
You Own Nothing
You own no side.. you may have an opinion, and that's what makes America great, you may belong to a party you chose, and you like all have a vote that counts. The People, if we live according to the concept of the entire Constitution, own the turf. In the end it will be the collective vote, of those who choose to vote, that makes the final choice.
Your side? I never hang with those who claim to be part of the fold who are wolfs in Patriot clothing.
I'm glad Lincoln, nor the founding fathers, found any thing restated that they proclaimed, too "Intellectual" to print.

12. I will work to abolish the "death tax" another scheme to take from those who have worked hard all their lives.
13. To vote by Secret Ballot has been one of our nations historical forms of procedure to insure all are free from intimidation. To do otherwise is a slap in the face of all American workers on their decision to join or not join a union. I will work hard to protect your right to vote by secret ballot.
14. I support Israel as a sovereign nation and believe Israel has an absolute right to defend herself.
15. I believe in regular Town Hall Meetings with my constituents.
16. I support those who have found it necessary to form Tea Party Protests nationally.
17. I support a full accounting of our PoW's and MIA's from all era's. I disagree with DUSTWUN and believe we should retain PoW/MIA as it represents not only the missing but their families who have fought so hard for information about their loved ones who are missing as well as a full accounting.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- A spokesman said Democratic Rep. John P. Murtha died Monday at 1:18 p.m. at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, Va.
Murtha had been suffering complications from gallbladder surgery. At his bedside was his family.

May 17 2006 U.S. Rep. Jack Murtha accused U.S. Marines of killing innocent Iraqi civilians "in cold blood." Murtha,( a John Kerry Clone ) was a vocal opponent of the war in Iraq, and like all good left wingnuts, made this statement before any marine was tried. In the end, all he accused were acquitted.
"Murtha's remarks about the guilt of these people having killed civilians in cold blood is very reminiscent of John Kerry's Senate testimony" in 1971, when the current senator from Massachusetts stated he'd heard Vietnam veterans say they had "randomly shot at civilians" and "razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Kahn." Many of those who supported Kerry and testified with false statements, were later proven to be wannabe's.

Erosion of Our Second Amendment Rights
This event is vitally important because it deals with one of our most valuable - but least appreciated - rights. Too many of our fellow citizens (and definitely way too many of our "representatives" in state and federal government) don't give the Second Amendment a second thought. And in fact, many of them think the amendment has outlived its usefulness and is no longer a "need" in a technological society. Sadly, that belief is now reflected in many thousands of current and proposed pieces of legislation that are intended over the longer term to disarm this country. As our Second Amendment rights are consistently being eroded, I am so thankful for every candidate who is willing to stand up and say "No More!" to those who want to disarm the American public.

If the Parrots of the Parties hears ya they may echo your sentiment from the mouth, repetitiously, trying to convince you they are where you are at. Know those speaking from the "heart" with conviction. It will be apparent.
