We still need a coordinator in Florida. ;) Interested? Contact Skip: Skip@secondamendmentmarch.com

I plan on going to Washington,DC for the SAM in April. I live in Crestview,Fl and would be willing to help with a local or State event.
When I was a Child I saw a bumper sticker on a rural store front window that read,
WHEN GUNS ARE OUTLAWED ONLY OUTLAWS WILL HAVE GUNS!!!!!
I understood this when I was a child and I understand it now that I'm 51.As harsh as it may sound anyone that can't see this statement and recognize this as the Gospel truth is a IDIOT.

I am an organizer of the largest 912 group of its kind in the U.S. and we are looking for a good speaker with credentials to speak on the Second Amendment. We are located in Tampa, Florida and will need the speaker for our meeting on Tuesday 23, 2010 at 7 PM.
Should anyone know of a person that fits this description please advise.

I'm located in Central Florida, and attended the 9/12 March. A patriot in S. Fla. set up a group rate on AmTrak and about 80 of us went - I got on the train in DeLand, and about 100 more got on the train in JAX. The round trip fare (group) was about $160 for seniors and a little more for the younger set.
It would be nice if we could set up a similar trip for April. It works out nicely because you get on the train the day before, get to D.C. early the next morning, do the march, and get back on the train the same day (around 7:30 PM) for the trip back. Arrive later the next day at home. No hotel fees, and we had a very nice party both ways.
I think the train for the trip up is #98 and the return trip is #97 - I just checked and purchasing a single ticket for 1 adult over 62 is $164.90, $194 for adults (16 and up). If we could get a large enough group, it would be even cheaper. Of course, the price would change the further south you are, and the cheapest from JAX.
Anyone who would like to take the train? It's a hectic 3-day adventure, but a lot of fun.
Hello to everyone in
Hello to everyone in Florida!
A short introduction from your State Coordinator.
My name is Mike Odom and I am a resident of Melbourne, Florida. I was unhappy seeing our great state colored red and in need of a coordinator, so I volunteered my services. Just a short bio about myself and then I want to move on to getting our state in motion. Sad thing is that I am pushed for time by finding out about this march so late. With that said I feel that we have enough people in the state to get us back up to speed. I am looking for volunteers mainly to help get the word out about the march in DC. Also as soon as I can get a date set for the Florida rally we will really need to move fast on that.
I have started collecting the information needed to get a state rally organized. Let me know that we have some interest in this opportunity by posting here and in the forum. I just started a transportation topic for people trying to organize transportation on buses, trains and shared rides or carpooling. If you have not signed up for the forum, please do so and add to the posts there. I Know there are a lot more people from Florida than the few that have posted any comments. We hope that each and everyone of you will be able to make it to the march in April, but even if it is not possible, please help to spread the word about this site.
I can be contacted using the email address posted above and I will respond to all email within 12 hours or less. I work as a professional IT Technician, so I am always close to a computer.
Look for updates from me real soon with more information as I gather it.
Looking forward to seeing all of you at both marches.
Mike Odom
Florida State Coordinator
Mike, Thanks for assuming the
Mike,
Thanks for assuming the role of state coordinator for Florida. Please keep me informed about the plans for the 2nd Amendment Rally in the state of Florida. I am planning to attend. Can't make it to D.C. from Sebring, but certainly want to participate in anything closer. Just let me know when and where.
Regards,
Art Fisher
I just found about this today
I just found about this today and I know there are others who know nothing about it at all! You gotta get the word out!
Do you have a flyer yet for distribution to all of the gun stores and gun clubs in Brevard?
Also, if you go on the NRA website there should be an NRA grassroots coordinator for this county who might be willing to help via his contacts. Same goes for the Unifed Sportsmen of Florida, headed by Marion Hmmer, past president of the NRA.
And, that same flyer needs to be distributed at the gun shows. I think there was one this weekend, over at the Cocoa Expo, and two more before the event: One Feb 20 and 21 and April 3 and 4 at Melbourne Auditorium.
Finally, contact the secretary and newsletter editor at the Port Malabar gun club and see if info can go in their next newsletter. That reaches close to 1000 people!
Contact: Secretary Jim Beachboard @ 321-724-2271 should be able to point you in the right direction.
Hello poster, We're glad you
Hello poster,
We're glad you found us! We do have a flyer, and many of our supporters have been distributing them to gun shops, ranges, and at gun shows. You can print it here: http://www.secondamendmentmarch.com/pdf/8x11_flyer.pdf
Florida just gained a state coordinator last week (Mike Odom), so things are just starting to gain momentum there. I guarantee that Mike will need all the help he can get! There is much to do -- far more than the handful of people running Second Amendment March can ever accomplish. We appreciate your great ideas and invite you to contact these venues for us and help get the word out. Could you do that for us?
Thanks for your support!
Terri Stocke
Second Amendment March President
Thanks for the quick answer
Thanks for the quick answer Terri! and Welcome poster.
As Terri said I just jumped on board myself. I live in Brevard as well and I have visited some of the gun shops. I appreciate your information and will definitely put it all to use. I am working hard in three directions with a late start as I recently found the web site myself.
Any other help you may have would be appreciated and feel free to contact me at the email address above. Be sure to register for the forum and post in there as well. Thanks again for posting and visit often!
