March 29th, 2010; 20 days to go and the Alaskan clock is running. Preparations for our four in-State Events, set for Fairbanks, Anchorage, Kenai, And Wasilla, are moving along nicely. We have received two of our four Banners and we continue to secure and confirm Guest Speakers for our respective Events. We, here in Wasilla, have begun snow clearance from the Picnic Area alongside Wasilla Lake, where our Event will be held. This should be concluded this week which will allow the area to dry out in time for the 19th. To say that we are all excited, in anticipation of the 19th, would be a gross understatement. A lot of hard work has gone into our respective Event preparations, which should show through on the day of our Events. As Alaska's Coordinator this has truly been a memorable experience, and I have made Friends that should stand the test of time. Each venue will be inviting their local Police Forces, as well as local Detachments of the Alaska State Troopers to their Events. With God's help our Events will provide memories that will last a lifetime. Len Betts
On December 15th a few
On December 15th a few members of our Mat-Su 2nd Amendment Task Force (Mat-Su 2ATF) occupied a major street corner, within Wasilla, to carry signs stating: "Happy 218th Birthday of our U.S. Bill of Rights!" The public reaction was both heart warming and gladdening. The snowfall and cool temps kept us moving. We had folks applauding, honking, and shouting encouragements!
Also,we are working closely with the City of Wasilla, to support the City's efforts to build the most state-of-the-art Shooting Range in Alaska. We have two upcoming Gun and Sporting Shows where we will have tables with the Range's engineering drawings and an Artist's conceptual drawing with which the Residents may view what the finished range will look like.
As to our preparations for our April 19th events, both the Anchorage and Wasilla projects are moving along nicely. There are two other Communities likely to come on board with project events of their own. I hope to have another update just into the New Year!
January 1, 2010, Happy New
January 1, 2010,
Happy New Year greetings from Alaska. We have great things in motion for the next 30 days. In conjunction with the recently completed National Continental Congress, Alaska's three State Delegates are going to hold four mini-Conventions throughout the State, where they will deliver their after-action reports. Also, I will address 2nd Amendment issues and piggy-back on the upcoming planning efforts to both raise funds for the National March, and also bring forth more public awareness of the four planned April 19th in-State celebrations.
To date, we will have April 19th events in Fairbanks, Anchorage, Soldotna, and Wasilla. With each, we will begin with a Rally, to be followed by a March, finally ending with a covered dish potluck picnic.
The afternoon of Saturday January 9th, we are having the first full membership dinner meeting of the Anchorage 2nd Amendment Task Force, where our 323 members will be briefed on issues both of concern and note. We have invited a prominent State Senator to be our honored Guest and Speaker. I will be sure to seize the opportunity and to "pass-the-hat", for a fund raiser for National.
We have a Sports and Gun Show coming up on January 16th and 17th, which will take place at Wasilla High School. We will have National March Event T-shirts and Bumper Stickers, as well as a selection of Skip's books for sale, in order to raise funds. These fund raising opportunities, along with those from other signed-on State Groups, will be the life-blood to and for the National March.
We have hit the ground running, on this first day of the new year, and as always will need many hands with which we can pull everything together. Volunteerism WILL prove to be the muscle for our success! This is not a one person or a one group effort! It is and will be a combined effort! It WILL succeed from the combined efforts of thousands of Patriots gathered together to protect our God-given and unalienably affirmed rights as Citizens.
I wish us all well in this our quest, and I look forward to meeting new Friends in this new year. God Bless you all, and may God Bless America!
Respectfully, Len Betts 907-373-5413 907-354-4461 kl7lb@yahoo.com
