Mississippi Stand Tall

I have sat here trying to think of a catchy way to start this article for you Patriots here in Mississippi.  But nothing I tried sound good. It may have been nice and a tribute to fine oration, but I decided to back down and just be what I am, a plain old Southerner.

Our right to defend ourselves which is secured by the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution is being threatened it seems from every direction by those who seem to believe that guns kill people. We know that it is not the guns, it is people who kill people.

Mississippi has been able to protect itself by passing the Mississippi Castle Law and our carry permits are very reasonable.  The right to defend ourselves, however, as we know, does not come from a law passed through man's legislative bodies.  The right to defend ourselves comes from our Creator as pointed out in the most powerful document this world has ever seen short of God's Word.

We in Mississippi have stood over the years on our Principles even though we have been batted around and ridiculed. That is OK, we are human and humans make mistakes but one Principles that we WILL NOT and CAN NOT compromise is the 2nd Amendment which says "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."  We are a Free State, Sovereign and Principled. We believe that "A well regulated Militia,..." means that is our individual citizen's right to defend themselves is  "Kept Regular and Functional".

Plan on being in Washington or a local Rally on the 19th of April, 2010 for the 2nd Amendment March. We have to Stand Tall and Speak Boldly about our Rights given by God.   MISSISSIPPI STAND TALL!
